We are based in the south of The Wirral in
the Historic Market Town town of Neston, infact our Clubhouse is on the banks of The River Dee next to Parkgate. In
Parkgate they used to fish for Shrimps and Prawns and this is where we get our emblem from and the colour of our tops, Pink,or
some may say Coral, like the shrimps!
Neston Cricket
Club is our HQ and alot of the players also play Cricket, Tennis or Squash at the Cricket Club. It was the base for
our Grass Pitches in the past. See the Link Page to Neston Cricket Club.
Hockey at
Neston has a rich past, in 1983 the Men won The HA Cup, the National Knockout Cup, beating Slough 3-2 in St Albans, we were
also the Runners up in 1979, again, against Slough. We were National Inter League Champions in 1984. We have played
National League Hockey as recently as 1995 and then we had a slump in form, losing players to clubs who had an Astro. We went
down to only three Mens teams and two Ladies at our lowest ebb, but we got a Youth Policy and amalgamated with South Wirral HC and have grown to six mens teams and climbing
again and are currently in the 1st Division of the North West League. With The New Astro Pitch at our State of the Art
Clubhouse, both new in June 2009, our pendulum has swung full cycle and we are the club people are talking about.
In 2005/06, Neston Men won the Cheshire Plate, against Bramhall
and we are keen to move up to higher levels.
In 2007 we won
the Cheshire U21 Championships.
We have a strong
Junior Section with a number of strong players, gaining experience in the higher teams and representing county, North West
and The North.
The Boys U13's were 3rd in the
Cheshire 7 a side Tournament in 2006.
The Boys U18's
in 2008/09 got to the last 16 of The EH U18 Cup.
The Boys U15's in 2008/09 got to the semi-finals of The U15 Plate.
