Boys 7-0 Alderley Edge
It was very wet and about 4 degrees, the boys were pretty much soaked through
before the start but James Knight after 2 minutes got us warmed up with a cracking reverse flick up into the goal net
from the right. We had to wait 20 more minutes for our next goal even though we dominated in their half, James Fennah
cracked one in from the top of the D. Alex Lacey worked hard down the right and his hard work paid off after driving
into the D and bossed one between the goallies legs. Jonny Crick finished off another move after Ash Davis who worked
hard attacking their D all afternoon. That was 4-0 at half time and we were playing well, but Alderley Edge had been
dangerous on the break and tested Charlie Palin Ollie Mills and Tom Beaumont at the back. Tom McIver came on for Ollie
Mills and had some work to do as Alderley came on strong for the first few minutes of the second half. Thankfully we got back
to dominating the play and we finnally got another goal after a kerfuffle in the D Arthur Bush slotted one home. Jonny
Lord came on for Alex Lacey Ben Crane came on for James Fennah and Syd Roberts came on for Jonny Crick which gave fresh legs
to the team. James Knight got a touch on a hit in from outside the D and it deflected into the goal for his second and
then Max Dutton scored from our secret MSD27 move at a shorty.
Great game followed by some great Shepherds Pie
via Jayne Palin and Jaqui Lord, thanks for that, the boys wolfed it down after some fab hockey. The third round is in
Feb 2010 so we await to see who we draw.

U16 Boys 4-3 Lytham St Annes (a)
The boys travelled up to Lytham
with Pete Roberts and Jacqui Lord with a few parents driving, for an early push back time of 1130.
Lytham went 1-0 up
but Max Dutton dribbled through from midfield and slotted a beauty away. James Fennah added another and we looked a
little more comfortable, but they fought back to 2-2. Max got a re-bound from a shorty and James Fennah added another to make
it 4-2, they got one back towards the end to make it a nervous last few minutes. We play Alderley Edge in the next round.

U16 Boys 6-7 Deeside Ramblers
A game of end to end hockey, that sadly for Neston, had
to have a winner, which was Deeside. They played well and one of the teams had to go through and it is probably better
to have a last gasp goal than to go to penalties. We were 3-1 down at one time in the first half and Goals from James Fennah,
Arthur Bush, James Knight and Charlie Palin made it 4-4 at half time. Arthur and Ashley Davies got two in the second
half, Deeside also scored two to make it 6-6 with ten minutes to go. In the last seconds their No 11; George Okell;
got the winner. We wish Deeside well in the next round and we go through to the Plate competition. Thanks to the coaching
staff of Kenny Gardiner, Pete Roberts and Jaqui Lord and the catering staff of Barbara Crane!
