5th Team Match Reports
After taking some time to settle down, NSW started to play a good passing game, opening up the home defence on several
occasions. Lack of finishing however prevented scoring, and against the run of play, Bramhall went ahead shortly before the
break from a free hit outside the circle.
NSW began brightly in the second half, again often creating openings but without capitalising in the D. Bramhall gradually
fought back into the game and began to take more control in midfield, scoring again about 10 minutes from the end.
Much credit is due to the home side for keeping to their task and taking their chances, but this is a game that NSW
should have won.
Neston 5's 4-1 Wilmslow 3's 29 Sept 2007
Neston 5th team took on Wilmslow 3rd team and in the first five minutes Neston
took the lead from a textbook first class passing momentum, completely throwing Wilmslow.
Neston kept up that strong team spirit and continued with a passing game to add
another goal to the scoresheet. Wilmslow started to come back at Neston with some power, overloading the Neston Defence, and
snatching a goal, but after some good direction and regained composure from the Neston side, the Wilmslow goal was not good
enough to put Neston out of the game. Two more goals were scored in the second half by Neston and one of them including a fantastic
volley from Pete Chester.
A great game was had by all on Saturday. The communication,
skill, pace, stamina, commitment and high team spirit lead to a composed Neston side thoroughly deserving a win. Well done
to everybody and lets keep up the fire we had on Saturday's game, then we can set our sights high for a good place in the
league.

Chester v Neston
6th January 2007
Chester 2-2 Neston
Goals: Chris Lingard and Gavin Duff
It was good to be back after our christmas break, there was also a birthday boy on the team!
Gavin Duff celebrated his 19th birthday today!
We started off attacking very well, making some excellent passes. Chris Lingard scored the opening
goal in the first half, a good strike. Gavin Duff had one disallowed, (didn't use his stick, came off his foot). Neston were
attacking Chester's defence to get another one in and we were also defending the oppostion's short corners. At half time,
Rutter and Tim gave us an entertaining talk and so were prepared to get more goals. This didn't go to plan as we didn't get
hold of the ball for the first 20 minutes of the game! Chester were really strong and scored 2 goals and had other chances.
It looked bleak for Neston to get a goal back but in the last minute of play, Twiggy passed it
into the D and Gavin Duff hit it through the keeper's legs. Gavin got his Birthday Goal, to put Neston Level at 2-2.
An even game and a very enjoyable one to play in.
Final Score 2-2
